April Foolishness
Apr 8
We’re just about ready to upload our April release. Dead Man’s Pass is the second Savage release in the Bracol series by Mr. Joel. Designed for seasoned characters, it’s every bit as freaky and clever as Garden. Look for it in the next day or two.
In the works
Mar 18
Well, we’re about halfway through March here and things are still ticking along. The second installment of Mr. Joel’s “Bracol” series for Savage Worlds is rapidly approaching completion. This adventure takes it to the “Seasoned” level of PCs. It was a blast to playtest, even if my berserker died!
Speaking of playtesting, we’re partway through the playtest of what I hope will be the May release. It’s a Labyrinth Lord compatible module. Like the Bracol module, it’s for slightly more experienced PCs (5th level or so) and is pretty expansive. We’ll have to see how big it is by the time it’s been through revision and after Editrixie gets her hands on it.
Going into summer, there are some fun products like Ruins of Mor that I want to see get closer to done. We also have a massive sucker that’s been playtested under Savage Worlds, but we may release as “system-neutral.” It’s big enough that the editing process may take some time, though. It’s also fairly genre-neutral, but that’s about all I’ll say for now. (Hint: it’s got dinosaurs!)
It’s a real problem when so many creative ideas get tossed around the monkey cage that it’s hard to just focus on getting current projects done properly and out the door. Here’s a teaser for you though: the monkeys are working on a non-fantasy concept that we think is pretty cool. Still deciding about the best fit system-wise, though.
All right, that’s enough for now. Look for the next savage installment from Mr. Joel in a few weeks.
Our fantasy character sheet for Savage Worlds has become the most popular Faster Monkey download. Since it’s free, I guess we shouldn’t be surprised. But it was never meant to be a flagship product.
Originally, I designed this character sheet to emulate the one in TSR’s classic D&D Rules Compendium of 1981. Instead of D&D, of course, it includes my own ideas of important Savage Worlds character information. The form fields work great in Adobe Acrobat on my Mac. However, now that it’s out in the world, people are using the character sheet on all kinds of systems and software, and PDF can be a mysterious thing. So I want to know: How’s it working for you? Any good or bad experience with it?
At Faster Monkey Games, we always want to hear feedback from the customer, even for a free one-page “product” like the character sheet. Let us know what you’re thinking! Send us Monkey Mail or just comment below. And thanks!
